Fine Art 3D Modeling

Traditionally, sculpture existed on a spectrum of singularity. In the 19th century, a typical piece started life as a clay model, a negative mold was taken of said clay, and from this mold was cast an identical positive in a durable material such as plaster or metal.

The downside of the traditional approach was twofold:

First, there was the inherent limitations of analogue materials. At monumental scales, the sculptor was pressed into a pitched battle against gravity with the clay requiring extensive armatures. And at micro-scales, the artist was held back by the limits of their tools and dexterity.

Second, re-scaling meant re-sculpting from scratch.

Fine Art 3D Modeling

Digital sculpting overcomes both issues. A digital model is infinitely scale able. More importantly, gravity has no bearing on it, permitting heretofore impossible configurations.

Of course, the hand of the craftsperson is still critical.

That’s why we maintain a seasoned cadre of in-house digital sculptors. Their collective experience and thousands of hours of modelling time allow us to craft anything, in any style, for any output.

They constitute the core of our creative services.
